Our Trip to Cabo!

I look outside and see all that cold snow and wish we were back in Cabo! We had such a great time! We flew to Cabo, Mexico on Sunday, December 14th. We left Denver at a chilly 0 degrees, and arrived to a warm and humid 80 degrees. What a huge difference that was! We stayed at the RIU Santa Fe resort. It was a really nice resort that had restaurants and pools and was right on the beach. We got a lot of sun and ate a LOT of food! Cameron and I spent our time at the pool and on the beach. I did take one boat ride out to Lover's Beach where we saw sea lions and a lot of tropical fish. Cameron was such a good baby! He was happy the whole time. He loved playing in the sand and the pool, but didn't like the ocean. Too scary! After three days of playing in the sand he finally decided to taste it. Unfortunately he liked it.......a lot, thus ending his play time in the sand. We were so lucky to have a such a good natured baby. The only time he really got cranky was waiting at the Denver Airport for 7 hours due to snow delays. But who can blame him :) While we were in Cabo Mike was a little more adventurous than me. He went para sailing and deep sea fishing with his family. He actually caught a Marlin! (with a little help from Jeff and Tanya). The main reason for our trip to Cabo was for Alissa and Jason's wedding. They were married on a private beach as the sun was setting. It was really pretty and she looked beautiful. We are so happy for Alissa and Jason! I would highly recommend vacationing to Cabo. The fresh corn tortillas were SO GOOD and I have never eaten so much flan in my life! Some things I didn't expect were that the food tastes different and when you are on the beach you have locals trying to sell you stuff the whole time. Other than that it was wonderful!

Christmas Card Pictures

I am actually going to send out Christmas cards this year! It's sort of been a hit and miss tradition in our family. But this year has been pretty eventful, so I feel like there is actually something worth telling people. And I have somehow managed to find time to do it. Just like I have found time to blog. (It is 1:00 am. right now, tee-hee!) So, yesterday I got the kids all dressed up and gathered them around the fireplace to take a few pictures. Cameron was starting to get hungry, so I was worried I wouldn't be able to get him to smile. And of course, Jace didn't want anything to do with it. I'm thinking, "Maybe we won't be sending out Christmas cards this year." But then I bribed him with chocolate and he sort of did better. See for yourself:

In the end we had a couple that were decent enough to put in our Christmas cards:

When I was editing the pictures on the computer I couldn't help but notice that Kaylee looked a little purple. She had been playing in our freezing cold, unfinished basement and I had just given her a quick bath. It's kind of funny when you compare her coloring to the boys. Poor girl!

We've Moved!

Moving is no fun! We are hoping this is the last time we ever have to do it. To lighten the stress of packing, Mike put Cameron in a box. He loved it! He was in there for about 20 minutes just as happy as can be. I swear he made car sounds while he was is there. Very Cute!

We are now officially Herriman residents! So far we really like Herriman. It's new and has a lot of young families like ours. We went to our new ward and were welcomed by a lot of friendly people. It is so hard going to a new ward and not knowing anyone! Our ward is really big and it's a little overwhelming trying to figure out who everyone is. I joined the ward choir and the aerobics class to try to get to know people better. The Welkers (our next door neighbors), invited us over for dinner last week. They are so nice. Our kids are all about the same age, so it will be fun for them.
Here is a tour of our new house: (I don't know how long this will be available)
As much as I don't want to say it, Jace is no longer potty trained. I guess I spoke too soon. Maybe after Mexico we can get more serious about it again.

Playing Catch Up!

I told my friend Loni I would start doing my blog again. Many of you know that we are moving this month, that's all I ever talk about these days. I'm just a little excited :) As a result of our move we will be leaving some great friends we made in Spanish Fork. So, it's time I get more serious about this blog of ours. My last post was in April. This is what my journal looks like. About every 6 to 12 months I play catch up on every thing that has happened since my last entry. So, here it goes: We had a baby! Cameron was born on May 19, 2008. We were blessed with another healthy baby! Jace turned 3 and had another Cars birthday. That boy is a little obsessed. Mike got a new job at Lumenis. They make lasers for medical purposes. He loves his new job, but is not fond of the commute. Kaylee turned 5 and had a Teddy Bear Factory birthday party (our less expensive version of a Build-A-Bear party). She also went to Build-A-Bear and got a Kitty with a Fairy costume. Kaylee started Kindergarten just 2 days after her birthday. She loves school, her teacher, and her new friends. She told me today that now she knows all the kids names in her class. Just in time for her to go to a new school and learn a whole class full of kids names. Oh well. For Halloween this year Kaylee dressed up as a Queen, Jace was a race car driver (surprise, surprise), and Cam was Dopey. Our most recent announcement: Drum roll please ..................................Jace is now potty trained! Woo-hoo! We are so proud!

My First Post

Starting a blog is on my list of things to do after preschool is over and before the baby is born. My last day of preschool was yesterday! Woohoo! I'm so excited to have my time and my house back. I've taken down the alphabet that was up on my wall and all the posters. The walls are bare, but my family room looks like a family room again and not a preschool. Now I just need to clean out the 'preschool closet.' That's also on my list of things to do after preschool and before baby.

I am terrible at keeping a journal and am looking forward to using our blog for this purpose. The kids have said and done so many cute things that have all been forgotten. But not anymore!
